THE OLD ABERLADY INN

Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve

Aberlady Bay, was designated as Britain's first Local Nature Reserve in 1952 it is of Special Scientific Interest, due to its botanical, ornithological and geomorphologic significance. Several species of bird in serious decline nationally are abundant here.

Myreton Motor Museum

Established in 1966 Myreton is home to a large collection of cars, bicycles, motor cycles and commercial vehicles dating from 1899.

Museum of Flight

Since 1975, the Museum of flight has displayed its collection of aeronautical delights. It recently won the bid to display Concorde. The collection comprises aircraft, rockets, memorabilia, archives, instruments, propellers, models and photographs.

Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery

the home of The Edinburgh Malt. Here you can see a working distillery, the making of a capital malt in every respect. An exhibition of malt whisky is housed in the listed red brick buildings.

"Raceland" - Gladsmuir

This Karting Centre is the only venue in the UK that features both indoor (40mph) and an International outdoor (70mph) tracks. Go Karts and can be booked 48hrs in advance.

Belhaven Brewery

Only 15 mins drive away from Aberlady, Belhaven Brewery is the largest regional brewer in Scotland. The brewery itself dates back to 1719 making it Scotland’s oldest surviving brewery. Guided tours are available. but booking well in advance is essential.

Tantallon Castle

This 14th century castle is situated on the cliffs overlooking the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock. Inhabited by the infamous Douglas family this early example of defence capabilities is not to be missed.

John Muir Birthplace

born in Dunbar, on 21 April 1838. he later emigrated to America. There he established his reputation as a pioneer of nature conservation. Visit his birthplace.
